-Anorexia Nervosa is when a person restricts their energy intake which leads to an extremely low body weight relative to their age, sex, genetics and overall health.

-Has an intense fear of gaining weight or becoming fat even though they are obviously immensely underweight.

-In denial of how serious their condition actually is.

After starving for a while a person’s body stops sending hunger signals to the brain. The stomach is a muscle and if it does not have to work it shrinks like any other muscle. They are usually cold all the time despite the temperature, lose hair and experience mood swings and fatigue.

Some individuals do not meet every single single criterion; atypical anorexia is when a person meets all of the criteria but is not underweight despite obvious weight loss.
