-Binge eating is when a person eats an abnormally large amount of food in a short period of time, usually in a discrete manner. They want to stop eating but they experience a sense of lack of self control and willpower. This usually occurs at least once a week for 3 months.

-This disorder tends to bring shame and guilt, the individual is disgusted in their lack of control but has unresolved emotional issues that can only be relieved by eating. Some BED lead to restriction which then leads to intense binge episodes. Meanwhile they are desperately trying to control their eating habits and weight. Some of the causes include social pressure, physiological risk factors such as depression and biological abnormalities can cause Binge Eating to start.

This disorder is extremely life threatening. It often leads to digestive issues, irregular periods in women, obesity, joint pain and trouble sleeping.
